We ask a few short questions: what happened, which county, and whether there's a court date.
Our Director of Client Engagement walks through your situation, explains how North Carolina courts handle this charge, and discusses fees plainly. If we're not the right fit, we tell you.
We pull the police report, video and lab work and look for what the state got wrong. Every case is prepared as if it will go to trial.

No. You must identify yourself, and nothing more. Politely say you want a lawyer and stop talking. Anything you say, even to explain, is evidence.
A 30-day civil license revocation starts at the arrest, and a limited driving privilege is possible after 10 days. The criminal case follows, with sentencing levels that depend on aggravating and mitigating factors we can start building right away.
Dismissals and not-guilty verdicts can usually be expunged. Many first-time misdemeanor and some felony convictions become eligible after a waiting period. DWI convictions cannot be expunged. We tell you the realistic record outcome on the first call.
Misdemeanors are handled in district court with up to 150 days in jail; felonies go to superior court and carry prison time under structured sentencing. Reducing a charge is often the real fight.
Sometimes. Illegal stops and searches, unreliable tests, missing witnesses and weak evidence all lead to dismissals or reductions. Deferred prosecution and conditional discharge are available for many first offenses.
Not before a lawyer reviews the evidence. First offers are rarely the best offers, and some pleas carry consequences for licenses, immigration status and jobs that prosecutors don't mention.
The consultation is free. Fees depend on the charge and the court, and we explain them plainly before you decide. Most cases are flat fee, so you know the number up front.
